P5 Dictation

Dictation 1 ( Unit 3 )

A. Seen Dictation (90%)

It was a sunny Sunday morning. The Chan family were at Tai Tam Country Park.

‘Where do you want to go, kids?’ asked Mum. ‘We just want to sit at a picnic site and play on our phones,’ said Maya. ‘No way,’ said Dad firmly. ‘Put you phones away.’

Half an hour later, the children were still unhappy. ‘It’s a long way,’ said Maya. ‘And it’s boring,’ added Jamie. ‘Look!’ said Mum. She pointed at a black and white bird with a long tail. It sang beautifully. Dad took out his phone and crept nearer to the bird.

Dictation 2 ( Unit 4 )

A. Seen Dictation (90%)

I love travelling by tram but I don’t enjoy travelling by minibus.

Trams are cheap. For just over a dollar I can go from one end of Hong Kong Island to the other. I live in Wan Chai and my grandparents live in Happy Valley, so the tram is really convenient. Although travelling by tram is slow, there is a lot to see. I enjoy watching the people scurrying like ants in the streets.

Although minibuses are popular, they are not for me. People say they are comfortable, but I often feel sick and dizzy when the drivers go too fast on twisty roads.
